Excellent product. I just changed all my wheels (took of winter tires), and this made it easy. The torque control seems to work fine (I’m not sure how I’d actually check that it was correct though.. but it seemed consistent across all the wheels).

One thing I suggest, is get some paper towels, and put them over your wheel nut, before pushing the wrench onto the nut. This will protect your wheel nuts from scratches.
I found when I just used the wrench bare, it left scratches on my wheel nuts due to the force with which it was “hammering” them loose/tight. The paper towel solved the problem. Definitely not a reason not to purchase this.

Great impact wrench for emergency use, August 21, 2009

Tried the wrench today and worked 100%. Agree with the other review about protecting the lug nuts from scratches but that always happens with impact wrenches. Tried different torques as I tightened my lug nuts, then went back with a torque wrench set to a slightly higher target torque setting and the lug nuts did turn slightly before the torque wrench clicked. The impact wrench appears to be very accurate and I know it won’t overtorque my lug nuts. The operation was a little wierd as the wrench spins up for a couple seconds before each “impact” so it is not as fast as an air powered impact wrench but it is great as an emergency wrench to keep in the car.

This is a great product. Produces enough torque when needed. Torque settings could be set when tightening lug nuts. Other cheaper models does not produce enough torque to remove lug nuts. Handy to have in a quick tire change. Some scissor jacks have a nut for the socket for this impact wrench to lift the car. Torque settings are digitally set by the push of a button. Don’t waste your money on cheaper models that go only to 150ft-lbs. This torque wrench will go to 250ft-lbs.
